01Delete your OpenShadi account at any time

You can permanently delete your OpenShadi account and the personal data in it yourself, from the app or the website. This page explains how, and what happens to your data.

02In the OpenShadi app

• Open the app and sign in.
• Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account.
• Optionally tell us why, then confirm.

03On the website

• Sign in at openshadi.com/login with your mobile number.
• Open My Profile → Settings → Delete account.
• Confirm the deletion.

04Can't sign in?

Write to openshadiofficial@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account" and your registered mobile number. To protect you, we confirm the request with that number before deleting. We complete verified requests within 7 days.

05What is deleted

• Your profile and everything in it: name, details, family, about me, horoscope and partner preferences.
• Your photos and any verification documents you submitted.
• Your sign-in sessions and the device tokens used for notifications.

Your profile disappears from search, matches and other members' lists, and any pending requests are withdrawn. Messages you already sent stay in the other member's chat history, shown as from "Deleted member", so their record of the conversation is not broken. Deletion cannot be undone — if you return later you will start a new profile.

06What we keep, and for how long

• The record of your consent to our Terms and Privacy Policy — kept as proof of consent under the DPDP Act.
• Payment and invoice records, if you bought a plan — kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
• Records of reports made by or about the account and any action taken — kept for safety and possible legal claims.

Copies in routine backups are removed as those backups expire. Nothing we keep is shown to other members.

07Just need a break?

Instead of deleting, you can hide your profile in Settings. Nobody can find you while it is hidden, and your matches, chats and plan stay as they are until you turn it back on.
